Your mechanic does not always have to fix your car. It can also be done by you. Just by doing a little research, you can figure out how to fix your own car. If you have a brake leak and you need to fix it, do some research online and find out how you can fix a brake fluid leak.

Instructions

    1

Make sure you know about how to fix the leak before modifying the car incorrectly. It is not advised to use a stop-leak formula, and there are no quick-fix methods for this type of leak.

    2

Get a rebuild kit if the master cylinder is leaking. This basic procedure includes taking off the old cylinder and putting a new one on. Make sure you follow all directions in the kit.

    3

Buy new brake hoses if they are leaking. Go to your local auto parts store and purchase them. It is a basic procedure of taking the old leaky ones off and putting the new brake hoses on.

    4

Purchase metal tubing and a pipe bender if your metal brake lines are leaking. These lines can be more difficult to fix, and you might need to do some more research or ask someone for some assistance.

    5

Buy a rebuild kit if your caliper piston is leaking. It might be much easier to buy a brand new caliper instead of trying to rebuild and fix this part. You can purchase a whole new caliper piston at your local auto parts store.
