The 1992 Chevy Silverado (officially called the Chevy C/K1500) was available with power windows and power door locks. Both features are included in the same switch, which is integrated into the door panel, rather than being mounted on a separate removable panel. This means you'll need to remove the entire door panel to gain access to the power-door and power-window switch connection. Once accessed, disconnecting the switch is straightforward.

Instructions

    1

Remove the two screws from the inside-door handle trim. Open the door handle. Grasp the trim and pull it away from the panel.

    2

Pull the end caps off the flexible door pull. Behind the caps you'll find two screws. Remove them and take the door pull off.

    3

Twist the door-locking knob to unscrew it. Remove two additional screws from the top edge of the door panel.

    4

Push the door panel up from the bottom a few inches, and then carefully pull it away from the door far enough to access the power-door and power-window switch connection.

    5

Unscrew the two white retainers from the switch connection. Grasp the base of the connection and pull it away from the switch to unplug it.
