There are plenty of enthusiasts who will swear by their Acura Integra with good reason. The car is responsive, fun to drive and it captures the imagination. However, one weakness the Acura Integra possesses is the propensity for clutch issues. There are several ways to diagnose what is going on with your clutch and adjust it.

Instructions

    1

Pop the hood if you find that there's no pressure on the clutch of the Acura Integra. Look toward the right in the engine bay of the car, and check the level of the hydraulic fluid in the container. If the fluid level is low, it may be a simple matter of adding more.

    2

Check the master cylinder push rod if the clutch pedal on the Acura Integra feels too soft. You will have to get your Acura up on a lift and look for the master cylinder near the transmission. Adjust the length of the push rod with a 12mm wrench and a thin 12mm wrench. Check the play of the pedal to make sure you've fixed the problem.

    3

Change the distance the pedal travels and engages by adjusting the stops for the pedal top-out, pedal bottom-out or the pedal bottom-out-interlock switch. The pedal top-out stops requires a 14mm wrench, while the pedal bottom-out-interlock switch requires a 17mm wrench. According to one mechanic, when adjusting the pedal bottom-out stop, you "just jam something under there."

    4

Adjust the cable of the clutch on the Acura Integra by following the cable back to where it connects to the throwout bearing actuator arm. The arm protrudes out the front of the transmission. At the point where the clutch cable connects to that arm is a black knob made of plastic. Turn the knob in either direction and test how the pedal feels with each adjustment. One caveat: if it gets to the point where, after many adjustments, the clutch cable stretches, you need to replace it.
