There is information available on the lighting system of a Nissan Sentra in the owner's manual. If you can't use a screwdriver at all, you can take your car to a local garage or dealership, but many people choose to replace the signal lights themselves.

Instructions

    1

Set time aside to inspect your Sentra for safety routinely. Inspection of the signal lights is part of the safety check.

    2

Determine which signal light needs repair. If it appears there is water in the signal light assembly, you will need to replace more than the bulb.

    3

Read the owner's manual to find out where the housing screws are under the hood of the Nissan Sentra. Open the hood and feel with your hands behind where the signal lights are on the front of your car.

    4

Undo the signal light assembly. Unscrew the housing from the body of the car with a Phillips screwdriver. Protect the plastic pegs of the housing when you pull out the brackets from the body of the car. It is important to move slowly and pull out gently on the housing.

    5

Find the bulb socket and pull out the burnt signal light bulb. You will see gray-black char on the clear glass of the bulb.

    6

Check the base of the bulb to find the trade code. You will need this code to purchase a replacement bulb at the automotive store.

    7

Push the new signal light bulb in the socket and reattach the light housing to the car. Make sure all signals blink before you take the Nissan Sentra for a drive.
