How to Remove Rust From Car Bumpers

You can buff rust spots out of steel car bumpers easily using common household objects. Just follow these steps to remove the rust and protect your bumper from further oxidation.

Crumple a large piece of aluminum foil into a loose ball. You will use this ball like a sponge to buff away the rust.

Pour a small amount of Coca-Cola into the bowl. Dip the aluminum foil into it.

Rub the rust spots quickly and with some pressure until the rust dissolves and scrapes away. When all the rust is removed, wipe clean with the paper towel.

Apply the chrome polish following the provided directions to bring your bumper to a shine and protect it from further oxidation and rust.
