Part of the sleek look for a Chevy Corvette is the retractable headlights. Before you adjust the trajectory for the headlights, you should consider double checking the placement of the bulbs to ensure a correct fit. While you can adjust the headlights yourself, you need to take extra precaution to prevent damage to the headlight covers.

Instructions

    1

Find a flat vertical surface like a wall and park your car 10 to 15 feet from the surface. You may want to mark a line on the wall to use as a guide.

    2

Lift the hood and raise the headlights. If you've never done this before, you may want to manually lift the headlights to prevent scraping the headlight covers.

    3

Turn on the headlights. You may want to cover one headlight to more accurately see the trajectory path for the headlight you plan to adjust. Just be careful not to cover the headlight as heat may build up and cause the bulb to shatter.

    4

Locate and remove the plugs in the side of the headlight housing. The Chevy Corvette has adjustment screws for the vertical and horizontal alignment.

    5

Lubricate the adjustment screws and allow the lubricant to soak in for a few minutes.

    6

Insert a 2.5 hex key or Torx bit into the hole and turn. Adjust each headlight individually. The adjustments screws regulate both the low and high beams.

    7

Reinstall the headlight adjustment screw plugs.
