A good working thermostat is a must have for your car. Without a good working thermostat, your car will over heat and eventually blow up the motor. Even if youre not handy with cars, a thermostat is not that hard to replace and it is definitely essential to replace a faulty thermostat.

Instructions

How to Replace a Thermostat in a 1989 Buick

    1

Let the car sit for at least an hour before starting on this task. This is very important to do so no one gets hurt.

    2

Using the screwdriver, remove the radiator hose and the goose-neck bolts. The goose-neck is what holds the thermostat and radiator hose in place.

    3

Clean the intake and the goose-neck. Put the new thermostat in and double check that the thermostat is in right.

    4

Put the gasket and sealer on the goose-neck. Then just tighten the bolts. You dont want them too tight or they can break. Place the radiator hose back on and you are done putting in your new thermostat on your 1989 Buick.
