How to Replace the Fuses in a Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V has been around since the 1990s and offers a few styles such as the LX, EX and EX-L. Changing a blown electrical fuse in any of these models is simple and takes just a few minutes to do. Here's how to change the fuses in any CR-V model.

Turn the ignition off before replacing any fuse. Find the fuse box that's under the hood on the driver's side. The other fuse box is in the passenger compartment underneath the steering column.

Open the interior fuse box by pulling the fuse box lid towards you and off its hinges. Open the engine compartment fuse box by pushing the tab down.

Look at the inside cover of the fuse box to determine the location of the fuse you need to replace. A 2003 Honda CR-V, for example, has the front wiper fuse in slot 20 of the passenger compartment fuse box.

Remove the fuse using the fuse puller or your fingers. Inspect the inside for a burned or melted wire, indicative of a blown fuse.

Replace with a new fuse of the same rating, pushing the into place. The rating is found on the inside cover of the fuse box. A 2003 model's wiper fuse as listed in Step 3 has a 20-amp rating.

Snap the fuse box cover closed and restart the CR-V. Make sure that the new fuse is working.
