The taillight lens is part of a larger assembly that contains all the bulbs for the taillight, brake light, turn signal and backup lights on your 1995 Nissan pickup. The entire assembly is removed as a unit when replacing bulbs or the lens itself. While the assemblies are still available through some aftermarket suppliers and some dealers, a good source of an assembly for your truck is a salvage yard, if you need to replace it.

Instructions

    1

Open the tailgate of your Nissan pickup. The mounting hardware for the taillight assembly is in the bed of the truck. It is easier to work from the end of the bed than over the side.

    2

Locate the bolts on the inner edge of the rear-most bed pillar. There are two bolts, one above the other, in plain view on the face of the pillar.

    3

Remove the lower bolt with a socket and ratchet, then remove the upper bolt while supporting the assembly so it does not fall from the truck. Slide the assembly out enough to access the bulbs and sockets on the rear.

    4

Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock it from the back of the taillight assembly, then slide the socket and bulb out of the hole. Repeat this process for the other two bulbs in the assembly. Leave the bulbs and sockets hanging on the wiring harness for now.

    5

Remove the taillight assembly completely from the rear of the truck. You can now replace it as needed.
