If the side mirror on your Ford Truck is broken, then you will need to replace it or risk getting a ticket. After all, the mirror is responsible for added visibility around your vehicle, and can help you avoid another accident. This isn't a difficult process, and can be done in about 15 minutes with basic tools.

Open the door and pull off the plastic cover that goes around the inner corner of the door panel, just opposite the mirror. This is going to reveal the bolts and, if so equipped, the power mirror harness.
2Unplug the power mirror harness with your hands if you have power mirrors, then unbolt the mirror from the door using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Set the old mirror to the side.
3Place the replacement mirror in the holes on the door and bolt it in place using the factory hardware and the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Then plug in the power mirror harness if necessary. Push the plastic cover back onto the door to secure the clips in place.
