How to Adjust the Headlights in an Acura Integra

After the first generation of Acura Integra cars, the process for adjusting the headlights remained fairly consistent. Adjusting the headlights on second and third generations of the Acura Integra takes a little time, but any do-it-yourself enthusiasts can do it.

Find a dark place or wait until night to adjust the headlights on your Acura Integra. A dark background makes it easier to see the trajectory from each headlight. You can also park your car 10 to 15 feet away from a wall or screen.

Raise the hood and locate the vertical and horizontal gauges for each headlight. You should find these near the headlight assembly.

Check the reading for each gauge. Unless your Acura Integra has a bent frame, the headlights should be in the correct position when the gauges read "O."

Use a Phillips screwdriver to adjust the vertical adjuster followed by the horizontal adjuster. Test you low beam alignment before you test your high beam headlights.

Measure the distance from the ground to the center of the trajectory path for the headlights, if you feel the headlights need further adjustment. The center of the beam should be 23 inches from the ground on a surface 10 feet away from the car.
