Maybe you want to hot rod your car, or maybe you just want to get a little more horsepower out of it. Either way, you need higher performance fuel injectors than the ones already installed. You need to be able to figure out whether the fuel injectors you picked out really are for higher performance.

Instructions

    1

Read your owners manual, talk to someone at your dealership or call an auto parts store to find out what fuel injectors came standard in your car and the horsepower your car gets from the factory.

    2

Use a static flow calculator like one at the Fuel Injector Clinic to figure out how many pounds per hour you need to handle your improved performance.

    3

Look for fuel injectors that work for your car with the pounds per hour you want. Ask at your auto parts store or a performance shop for advice on which ones you should use. The additional pounds per hour a set of fuel injectors can put out is the rating for performance rather than stock.

    4

Decide on a set of higher performance fuel injectors, buy them and have them installed.
