The side mirrors on your 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix give you rear views of the perimeter of your vehicle, making it easier to change lanes, drive safely and see the surrounding area. When one of your side mirror glass pieces break, the light will refract around the crack, distorting your view and making it difficult to see around you. To fix the problem, you have to remove the old mirror glass from the car and replace it with a new one. This should take a half hour per side.

Instructions

    1

Put on the gloves and safety goggles or glasses (if you're using them). Shut the door. Push down the bottom of the side mirror glass to reveal a small opening at the top of the mirror glass.

    2

Reach behind the glass at the top of the mirror and pull it towards you. Pull it away from the mirror and remove any other broken fragments of glass as well by pulling.

    3

Push the replacement lens carefully into the mirror housing until it clicks into place. Rotate the mirror around to confirm that it's locked in place.
