How to Choose the Oil and Fluids for a Chrysler Town & Country

First introduced in 1990, the Chrysler Town & Country was also produced in a shorter wheelbase version known as the Chrysler Voyager. Both were dubbed as the first luxury minivans ever introduced. Here's how to choose oil and fluids for all model years of the Chrysler Town & Country.

Mix one part Mopar antifreeze/coolant with Hybrid Organic Additive Technology to one part distilled water to fill your engine's coolant system. Up to a 60 percent concentration of antifreeze, not more, may be used in the solution if temperatures are expected to fall below -32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Change your oil regularly, using API certified 5W-30 viscosity oil whenever possible. The oil you choose must meet material standard MS-6395, GF-3. If 5W-30 oil isn't available, you may substitute 10W-30, so long as temperatures won't fall below 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

Maintain your transmission, whether automatic or manual, and the all-wheel drive overrunning clutch with Mopar ATF+4 automatic transmission fluid. You can use the same fluid in your power steering reservoir, too; be sure to check this and other fluid levels regularly.

Use Mopar DOT-3 and SAE J1703 brake fluid whenever possible. If DOT-3 brake fluid isn't available you may use DOT-4 or DOT-4+ substitutes, but they're not recommended.

Refill your all wheel drive power transfer unit with Mopar gear lubricant, 75W-90 viscosity. You can use the same gear oil in the all-wheel drive rear carrier.
