We all try so hard to avoid those little dings at the grocery store or gas station parking lot but inevitably it happens. Save a bundle by doing your own touch ups for minor dings.

Instructions

    1

Start by removing any rust and loose paint with the dremel tool from the ding on your car. The high speed will smooth the ding out of the car.

    2

Apply the body putty in small thin layers. You may have to do this a couple of times to get a good layer in the depression. You are not trying to blend yet don't use too much or you will need lots of touch up with the dremel and elbow grease. Allow time for puddy to dry and bond with car. (Know when to ask for help when you need it.)

    3

Sand away the top layer of the putty that is in excess. When it comes to the edges blend them down smooth with the rest of the car's panel. Use the fine grit sandpaper for the final touch up. This works for scratches too!

    4

Apply a primer making sure to cover a little larger area then where the ding is. Allow to dry and sand lightly. Apply a few layers of matching color paint and sand lightly between layers. With little effort you should no longer notice the effected area. Congrats you have repaired your own vehicle.
