Inspect your vehicle to find the precise way to change your license plate light bulb, as each vehicle is slightly different. Consult your operator's manual if you're unable to determine how to access the license plate light bulb.

Instructions

    1

Take off the license plate frame from the back of the car.

    2

Remove the screws from the silver framework. It's typically located behind the decorative frame.

    3

Release the catch that secures the trunk shut. Then, pull back the carpeting right behind the license plate by releasing the catches that hold it in place.

    4

Locate the two screws that hold the license plate assembly to the inside of the trunk and remove those screws.

    5

Gently pull the license plate assembly into the trunk and you'll see the license plate light bulb.

    6

Unscrew the old light bulb and replace it with a new light bulb that's the same size and wattage.

    7

Return the license plate assembly, put the carpet back and replace both the frames.
