The Maintenance and Safety of a Spray Paint Booth

The efficient and safe operation of a spray paint oven requires regular maintenance. Schedule a maintenance plan for your booth with daily, weekly and monthly tasks clearly outlined. In addition, schedule a regular service check carried out by professionals every six months.

Daily Tasks

Sweep spray paint ovens thoroughly after the completion of every refinishing job to clear overspray and paint residue from the floor, which will help prevent the contamination of other paint jobs. Store spray guns, blowing tools and other ancillaries correctly, and remove solvent-based products before baking takes place. A clear working space also prevent tripping hazards.

Weekly Tasks

Wash the walls of the spray paint booth weekly to remove all traces of overspray. Next, apply a coat of low-tack gel to the walls to help minimize the buildup of overspray in the future. Scrub fixtures and fittings with a wire brush to remove any paint remnants.

Monthly Tasks

Remove and replace floor, wall and ceiling filters on a monthly basis or after 200 hours of use. You may need to perform these replacements earlier if the spray paint booth is not clearing vapor efficiently during the interim period. This task plays an integral role in employee safety.
