The Ford F-Series line offers trucks in different styles numbered from 150 to 750 in increments of 100 since its creation in 1948. While you may find differences in the location of fuses in models earlier than 1980, the process for replacing a blown fuse is the same. You can change the fuse yourself with minimal effort and money.

Instructions

    1

Turn your Ford F-Series off before you remove the blown fuse. Look for the fuse box, located below and left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal.

    2

Remove the panel cover by turning the fasteners counterclockwise to reveal the fuses. Look on the inside of that cover to find the location of the fuse you need. In a 2001 F-250 Ford truck you'll find the hazard light fuse is in slot 1.

    3

Use the fuse puller that is on the fuse box cover to remove the fuse. Check the inside wire to see if it is melted or broken.

    4

Find a fuse of the same rating to replace the blown fuse. In our example, in Step 2 the hazard light needs a 20 amp fuse.

    5

Click the fuse into place securely and close the fuse box. Check that it's working once your restart your truck.
