Triumph is a motorcycle manufacturer that started in 1887 as a bicycle manufacturer. From 1923 through the 1970s, Triumph also manufactured sports cars. As car and motorcycle enthusiasts refurbish and rebuild classic Triumphs, the desire to restore the car to peak condition includes replacing the patent label. The patent label on the Triumph motorcycle is an inverted triangle that can be purchased online through eBay or other websites. The patent label for the Triumph car rests under the hood and is rectangular.

Instructions

    1

Remove the screws from the current patent label using a small screwdriver. If changing the label on automobile, unscrew the two screws from each side of the rectangular patent label under the hood. If changing the label on the motorcycle, unscrew the three screws from each corner of the triangular label.

    2

Apply the tip of the flat-head screwdriver to the old label. Gently pry the label from the body of the vehicle. Remove the label and the washer, if present, from underneath the label.

    3

Position the new label and washer, if available, in place of the old label. Screw in the two or three screws just enough to hold the label to the vehicle. Tighten the screws once all screws are in for the best fit.
