Determine the fuel pump that your Honda CR-V will require. This depends on the make and model and engine size of your vehicle. Models made from 1996 to 2001 have a 2.0 L B20B or B20Z engine and models made after 2001 may be equipped with a 2.0 L, 2.2 L turbodiesel or 2.4 L engine.
2Relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench. Access the fuel pump by taking out the rear seat and removing the maintenance access cover. Unplug the fuel pump's electrical connection, fuel supply line and fuel return line. Cover the connector and pipe with plastic and have a towel handy to soak up excess fuel.
3Disconnect the fuel pump by removing the fuel pump locknut with tool 07AAA-S0XA100. Discard the gasket and O-ring.
4Install the new fuel pump using the items included in the kit, especially the gasket and O-ring. Tighten the fuel pump locknut to 69 foot pounds with tool 07AAA-S0XA100 and a torque wrench.
5Complete the installation by reversing the removal procedure.
