Depending on your car make and model, you can remove your wiper blades using one of two methods. Here are some general directions to remove and uninstall most common wiper blades.

Instructions

    1

For the first type of car, such as a Ford, rotate the wiper arm up, and twist the blade perpendicular to the arm. This exposes a small tab on the back of the blade.

    2

Depress this tab and slide the entire blade off the arm. Always return the wiper arm to its downward position after removing the blade. Since wiper blades are spring-loaded, if you do not put the arm back down, it can pop back into place and crack your windshield.

    3

For a different model car, such as a General Motors vehicle, gently lift the wiper blade up and away from the windshield. These wiper blades mount with a pin that runs through the wiper blade assembly. The wiper hardware locks down over the blade. Use a small pick or screwdriver to pop up the wiper hardware. Rotate the hardware out of the way and remove the blade from its mounting pin.
