The Jeep XJ came from the factory with a simulated wooden trim that ran down the sides of the truck. This trim looks like a wooden rod, and isn't considered appealing by some people. If you don't like the trim on your Jeep XJ, then you can remove it from the body with a little bit of time and the right tools. This process should take around 30 minutes to perform.

Instructions

    1

Place the tip of the flathead screwdriver between the end of the trim and the body panel. Carefully pull the trim back off of the body of the Jeep with the flathead screwdriver.

    2

Grip the trim with the pliers and pull it off of the body. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the remaining pieces of trim on the body.

    3

Locate any plastic clips left in the body. Place the punch on the center of the plastic clip, then strike the punch with the hammer to push the plastic clip into the body of the Jeep.
