Prices for everything are high nowadays, and car repairs are no different. When you find that your fuel injector is misfiring, you should save yourself some money and try to fix the fuel injector yourself. Here's a cool trick that will help you do it.

Instructions

    1

    Turn the engine on.

    2

Identify the cylinder that contains a fuel injector that is not working. Generally speaking, the reason a fuel injector fails it's because it's backed up.

    3

Place the tip of the extension on the body of the fuel injector that is not working.

    4

Tap on it lightly with a hammer five or six times. If nothing happens, try it again, but a little harder this time.

    5

Use care when doing this trick to fix a fuel injector. The last thing you want to do is break it and have to replace it. Because fuel injectors are no longer metal but a mixture of plastic and metal you have to be careful.

    6

Replace the fuel injector if you find yourself trying to fix it in the same way over and over. Unfortunately, the poor design of the fuel injector means that the problem may reoccur until the blockage just will not go away.
