When the turn signal stops working in your Saturn VUE, the first cause that comes to mind is a faulty bulb, which often is the problem. However, it may be a faulty turn sign relay. Replacement of the relay is something most anyone can complete, it only takes a few minutes and it can save you from having to pay the hourly rate of an auto mechanic.

Instructions

    1

Open the hood and locate the relay panel box on the Saturn VUE. You can find it on the driver's side near the front quarter panel.

    2

Unfasten the panel box and look on its underside for the relay diagram. You may need to use a screwdriver to open the panel, but in most models, it just pops off. However, don't use too much force, because it's plastic and can break.

    3

Remove the defective turn signal relay. There's a small clip, which holds the relay in place. This clip is somewhat fragile, so you never want to pull or twist the relay when removing it.

    4

Install the new turn signal relay in the same place as the old one. Be careful on both removal and replacement that you don't damage any of the other parts near the turn signal relay.

    5

Check to make sure the turn signal functions properly. If so, replace the panel cover and close the hood. If not, verify the turn signal relay installation. Should the problem persist, it's most likely a larger electrical problem with your Saturn VUE.
