One of the most common reasons for removing the door panels in a vehicle is to replace the speakers; however, you may also want to remove it to repair or replace the window or replace internal door power equipment (door lock actuators, power window motors, etc.). The Chrysler 300 door panel isn't too difficult to remove. The procedure is the same in all 2007 models, including the 300C.

Instructions

    1

Loosen the nut around the negative battery cable. Lift the cable away from the battery post to prevent electric shock when handling the door panel electrical components.

    2

Pull open the interior door handle. Pry open the small flap behind the handle with a flat head screwdriver. Remove the screw behind the flap with a Phillips head screwdriver.

    3

Pry open the small flap beneath the door panel armrest with a flat head screwdriver. Remove the screw behind it with a Phillips head screwdriver.

    4

Remove the three screws along the bottom edge of the door panel with a Phillips head screwdriver.

    5

Locate the five plastic rivets surrounding the door panel on the sides and bottom--there are none on top. Insert a 7/16 T-handle into the center of the rivets to disengage the door panel clips from the door skin. You can also use the tip of a small Phillips head screwdriver or an Allen wrench.

    6

Push the door panel straight up to raise it above the inner door lip, and then carefully pull it a few inches away from the door.

    7

Reach behind the door panel and lift the power door lock rod away from the actuator, and then unhook the two wiring harnesses for power windows and mirrors, if the car is equipped with them. Once these items are unhooked, the door panel will come free.
