Working with a custom car means that you have to make things fit, one way or another. One way to cut and separate two pieces of metal is to use a high-speed air body saw. It's a pneumatic saw that has a small, narrow blade that allows the user to make tight curves. Using one is not hard, it just takes a little bit of practice, and in no time you'll be cutting out patterns.

Instructions

    1

Wear eye and ear protection, as well as gloves. An air saw makes a lot of noise and flings out tiny pieces of metal. Without proper protection, you can get injured.

    2

Connect the air body saw to the air compressor via the air hose.

    3

Place the blade of the air saw onto the metal you want to cut, and pull the trigger using your hands. The saw will start to vibrate, but you want to work with the saw, not against it. You can throttle back the trigger if need be, starting the cut slowly then working into it.

    4

Turn the saw as you continue to cut the metal. It may occasionally jam up, where the saw stops working suddenly and you hear the air coming out of the bottom of the saw. By working it back and forth, you can make the saw move again.

    5

Pull out the saw blade from the panel and disconnect the tool from the air compressor when you are finished cutting.
