A car is a complex machine and the alternator is just one important part of the machine. The function of the alternator is to make sure the battery stays charged. The alternator has a simple function, but repairs to it can be difficult.

Instructions

    1

Disconnect all the old wiring from the alternator and then unscrew from the engine.

    2

Place the new alternator over the holes and attach it with a new nut and bolt.

    3

Search for the two wires--one black with a white stripe and the other white with a black stripe.

    4

Run the white wire with the black stripe into the "L" connector and attach to the terminal. Improve the connection by soldering the wire to the terminal.

    5

Cut off the old connector wire. Add grease to the connector and install into the terminal.

    6

Find the fuse holder and run a wire to the B terminal on the battery.

    7

Attach the old output wire onto the B terminal at the same time as the fuse holder wire.
