The Mitsubishi 3000GT is a beautiful sports car sold by Chrysler in North America as a Dodge Stealth. When it comes to muscle cars, the style of the Mitsubishi is top of the line. The V-6 engine connects to a turbocharger that gives the car excellent performance and speed. Unlike other sports cars, the Mitsubishi has rear wheel drive.

Instructions

    1

Get the car up on a hydraulic lift and find the oil line to the turbocharger. A common problem in the Mitsubishi 3000GT is a leak in the oil line.

    2

Assess the exhaust of the car-check for white smoke expelled from the tailpipe. This is a major warning signal for mechanics. White smoke means that there is water or coolant in the cylinder.

    3

Watch the exhaust to see if it is blue from the tailpipe. Blue smoke indicates oil in the cylinder. You can double check your findings with a quick peak under the hood. See if there is oil on the heat shield around the engine.

    4

Take a long look at the connection between the manifold and the cylinder head. Leaks often get unnoticed in this area of the Mitsubishi.

    5

Start at the tailpipe and work your way forward once you have checked for oil leaks and the manifold and cylinder connection.

    6

Listen for a hissing or popping noise when the car is running. Look for burned paint on the exhaust ports.

    7

Use your eyes and hands to inspect the Mitsubishi. Once it has been determined that the above areas have no leaks, a visual inspection is enough to detect any problems.
