While you can't adjust the focus of your headlights on your Saturn VUE, you can adjust the aim or angle. Saturn recommends that you check the aim and adjust your headlights every 12 months or any time you replace a bulb or work on the front end.

Instructions

    1

Fill your gas tank so it's at least half full or put 6 1/2 lbs of weight over the gas tank for each missing gallon. Add weight to the driver's seat to compensate for the lack of a driver. You also want to remove any cargo that you don't carry on a daily basis from your Saturn VUE.

    2

Park the SUV on a level surface 25 feet from a wall that is at least as wide as the SUV. Set the emergency brake to prevent accidental injury.

    3

Find the measurement from the center of each headlight to the ground. Use masking tape to transfer the measurements to the wall. You might consider using a colored masking tape to improve visibility.

    4

Locate the adjustment screws. Most models of the Saturn VUE have adjustment screws on the headlight assembly. You may need to remove cover plugs or access the screws through holes.

    5

Test the aim for your low beam headlights against the marks on the wall before you test the high beam lights. The adjustment screws control the headlight angle regardless of which setting you use.

    6

Adjust the aim or angle with a Philips or Torx screwdriver. You want to move the trajectory path until it's within a 2-inch variance of the marks on the wall.
