The Volkswagen Beetle was re-launched as the new Beetle in 1998 and still running strong. There are also many of the older models on the road that ran from 1934 until 1980. The fuse boxes may be different in the models before 1998, but the process for changing a fuse is the same and you can do it yourself.

Instructions

    1

Turn off your Volkswagen Beetle before you remove fuses. Look on the left side of the dashboard by the driver to find the fuse box.

    2

Use a screwdriver to lift the fuse box cover. Use the symbols on the inside cover to locate the fuse that you need to replace.

    3

Remove the fuse by placing your thumb and index finger on it and pull. Check the silver band in the middle to verify it's blown.

    4

Obtain a new fuse with the same rating as the one you removed. Push it into place until it clicks into place.

    5

Close the fuse box and restart your Volkswagen Beetle. Test the fuse to verify the fuse you replaced resolved your electrical issue.
