Some F-350 models have separate parking lamp assemblies that must be replaced if they become damaged or are otherwise defective. Other models do not have separate assemblies; instead, the parking bulb is simply attached to the headlight case. If the assembly is not damaged, you'll simply replace the parking lamp bulb rather than its case. The F-350 uses a different exterior lamp setup than other F-Series trucks, such as the F-150.

Instructions

    1

Turn off the exterior lamp control switch. Shut off the F-350's engine. Open the hood and turn the adjustment nut around the negative (black) battery cable with a wrench. When the nut is loose, pull the cable upward to unhook it from the battery.

    2

Examine the perimeter of the parking lamp to find three screws and one bolt. The parking lamp is on the outboard edge of the headlamp case. It is accessible even when the hood is closed. Remove the three screws with a Phillips screwdriver; remove the bolt with pliers or a socket wrench.

    3

Guide the parking lamp assembly toward you to remove it. Unplug the wiring harness from the bulb on the back. Grasp the bulb socket and rotate it counterclockwise to loosen it. Pull it straight out to unhook it from the assembly.

    4

Insert the parking lamp bulb socket into the mount on the back of the new parking lamp assembly. Turn it clockwise to secure it, then plug in the wiring harness.

    5

Push the parking lamp assembly into its mount. Tighten the three screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Tighten the bolt with the socket wrench or pliers.

    6

Place the negative battery cable back onto the battery post. Tighten its adjustment nut and close the hood.
