How to Replace Your Turn Signal Relay in a Honda CR-V

When the turn signals begin to act up on your car, there are a number of possible causes. The turn signal switch, flashers, fuses or relays may be the problem. With the Honda CR-V, the relay is hard to find and the following will help you locate it and step you through the repair.

Check the turn signal lights again. Go around the CR-V and visibly check if there are any turn signal lights out. If there are any bulbs out, replace them with the proper bulbs for your year of CR-V. The other cause that is easily checked is to see if a fuse has blown for the turn signal circuit. Replace any burned out fuses you find.

Locate the interior fuse and relay box. It is located under the dash on the driver's side of the car. Look for the fuse box between the wheel well and the steering wheel. This fuse box holds fuses for most of the systems of the CR-V and a number of the relays.

Remove the cover of the fuse box and put your hand up in the area of the relays. Activate the turn signals and feel for the relay with mechanical clicking. This will be the turn signal relay.

Take out the bad relay from the fuse box and replace it with a new one. Replace the cover of the fuse box and start the CR-V. Go around the car once more and check all the turn signals to make sure they all work as expected.
