When it comes to repairing cars, especially older cars, you can save yourself a lot of money by performing the repairs yourself. And believe it or not, there are some repairs which are really quite simple. Like getting under your dashboard. Here's how to get the dash off a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix next time you need to repair your car on your own.

Instructions

    1

Lay down under the steering wheel on the driver's side. It will be helpful to move the seat back so that you have more room.

    2

Locate the two screws that are above the pedals at the very base of the dash unit.

    3

Unscrew those two screws using your Phillips head screwdriver.

    4

Move to the driver's seat and sit in it.

    5

Reach down to where you just unscrewed the dash and grab hold. Then pull the dash towards you. It should easily pop out toward you because the Pontiac dash is only held on by clips.

    6

Pull off the piece of the dash that is around the instruments. This piece is separate from the previous. However, it too is also held only by clips. You have now completed getting the dash of your car. Now make your desired repairs.
