How to Replace Your Turn Signal Relay in a Mazda6

Most people think that auto mechanics is complicated and an assignment she should avoid. While there are obviously some exceptions, anyone can complete some tasks no matter what the training level. An excellent example of this is replacing the turn relay signal in your Mazda6. This not only helps expand your automotive knowledge, but it can also save you money.

Instructions

Open the hood and locate the relay box panel on the Mazda6. In most Mazda6's the relay panel is right behind the battery on the driver side of the car.

Use a screwdriver to take out the relay panel. You may need a flat head screwdriver to pry the cover loose. Otherwise, you can just pull it open.

Find the turn signal relay in the box and remove it. You can normally find the location by looking on the underside of the relay panel. When you take out the relay be sure you don't damage any of the surrounding fuses or relays.

Put the new turn signal relay in the relay box. Don't worry about putting it in correctly because the relay will only fit in one specific way. However, never force it into position, as you can damage it.

Turn on the turn signal in the Mazda6 to verify that it's working. If not, check all the connections including the one going into relay box. Be sure that when you work around the relay box to switch the engine off.

Replace the relay panel and make sure the screws are tight.
