How to Replace the Fuses in a Ford Mustang

The Ford Mustang has been a household name since 1964 and has since had quite a few changes to style and additions to the line. The process to change a fuse when you have an electrical issue is the same. You can handle this on your own for minimal cost and time commitment.

Turn your Mustang off before you replace a fuse. Find the fuse box on the driver's side to the left of the brake pedal.

Identify the location of the fuse you wish to check by reading the list on the inside of the fuse box cover. A 2000 Ford Mustang houses its radio fuse in slot 32, for example.

Use the fuse puller inside the fuse box, or your fingers if no fuse puller is available, to pull the fuse out. Check the wire inside to see if it is melted or split and needs replaced.

Find a fuse of the same rating as the one you removed. The radio in Step 2 uses a 15-amp fuse.

Click the new fuse into place and replace the cover. Verify the new fuse works by restarting your Ford Mustang.
