The tubing and valve assemblies that supply the washer fluid to the windshield can become corroded over time. If you've noticed that the windshield in your Kia Spectra isn't getting fluid yet there's fluid in the washer reservoir, you might need to replace your tubing. These steps apply to later model years only.

Instructions

    1

Locate your Kia Spectra's windshield washer reservoir tank. It's on the passenger side front behind the headlight and next to the power steering tank. You may need to remove the front quarter panel to get to the washer tank and tubing.

    2

Identify the tubing connection from the reservoir holding the washer fluid and another connection to the windshield. The reservoir connection is located at the bottom of the reservoir.

    3

Disconnect the tubing at the windshield side first and drain the reservoir of remaining fluid into a separate container for disposal.

    4

Pull the tubing from the bottom end of the reservoir. You'll need to jack the Spectra up to slide under and reach this connection if you haven't removed the front quarter panel and tire.

    5

Connect the new tubing to the washer reservoir, then the windshield outlets.

    6

Pour fresh washer fluid into the reservoir and and test the new tubing.
