How to Replace the Fuses in a Dodge Durango

Dodge created the Durango in 1998 to give customers more interior space and towing capability than other SUVs on the market. The functionality has remained similar throughout the years, although the body changed after 2004. You can replace a blown electrical fuse in your Dodge Durango yourself in under 30 minutes.

Turn the vehicle off before working with fuses in your Dodge Durango. Find the fuse box just to the left of the park brake pedal.

Open the cover on the fuse block to gain access to the fuses. Locate the fuse related to the electrical issue you're having by reading the inside cover, which lists the location, purpose and amperage of each fuse. For example, the radio fuse is slot F7 and requires a 25-amp fuse.

Pull out the fuse using a fuse puller and inspect it for damage. If the fuse has blown, the wire in the middle is burned out.

Replace the blown fuse with one of the same rating. Push the fuse into the open slot securely.

Close the fuse block by snapping the cover into place. Restart your Dodge Durango and check to make sure the electrical issue is corrected.
