The Dodge Ram is a great work truck and likely sees a lot of off-roading. It's important to keep the windshield clean. If you've found that the windshield in your Ram truck isn't getting fluid and there's still fluid in the washer reservoir, you might need to replace your tubing. The tubing and valve assemblies supply the washer fluid to the windshield.

Instructions

    1

Locate the Ram's windshield washer reservoir tank. On the 3.7L and 4.7L models, the reservoir is located in the center of the engine next to the coolant tank and directly in front of the oil fill. On the 5.7L model, the reservoir is also in the center, between the coolant tank and distributor cap. Due to the Ram's height, you should be able to work from underneath without using a jack.

    2

Purchase tubing or tubing/valve assemblies specifically made for your Ram Truck. Avoid the "one size fits all" assembly as it will not fit properly. An auto parts store or the Dodge dealership will have the tubing you need.

    3

Disconnect the tubing at the windshield side first and drain the remaining fluid into a separate container for disposal.

    4

Detach the tubing from the bottom end of the reservoir. You need to be underneath to reach this connection.

    5

Connect the new tubing to the washer reservoir, then the windshield outlets.

    6

Fill the reservoir with fresh washer fluid and test the wipers. It might take a few minutes to prime the new tubing before you see washer fluid coming out onto the windshield.
