If the blinker on your Mitsubishi Eclipse isn't working, it may be a problem with the turn signal relay. While you may not exactly know what a turn signal relay is, it's relatively simple to replace it. Not only is it easy, but it also saves you money in that you don't have to pay a mechanic for something you can do yourself in just a few minutes.
Instructions
- 1
Find the relay panel that protects the relay cluster on your Mitsubishi Eclipse. On the Eclipse, it's underneath the steering column and above the brake pedal.
2Use a screwdriver to remove the relay panel. You need a Phillips head screwdriver to take it out. Put the screws from the relay panel in a safe place, where you won't lose them.
3Locate the turn signal relay by looking on the diagram on the underside of the relay panel. Then, remove the turn signal relay by simply pulling it out. Be gentle during the removal, as you can damage other parts in the vicinity.
4Install the new turn signal relay. It should just pop back into the position of the previous relay. Again, be careful not to damage other parts near this relay.
5Test out the turn signal on your Mitsubishi Eclipse to make sure it now works correctly. If there's still a problem, it may be a larger electrical issue.
6Put the relay panel back into place and dispose of the old turn signal relay, if this solved the problem.
