How to Replace the Fuses in a Cadillac Escalade

The Cadillac Escalade is a luxury SUV rolled out in 1999 and produced every year since, except 2001. When you own one of these and you experience an electrical outage such as your lights not working, fixing the problem can be as simple as replacing a fuse. You can change fuses on your Escalade in just a matter of minutes.

Turn off your vehicle before performing any work with fuses. Locate your fuse boxes to see which has the fuse you'll need to change. One box is located under the hood behind the wiper fluid and houses fuses for things such as the seat heaters and air conditioning. The more common fuses are located in the box found in the passenger compartment on the driver's side edge of the instrument panel. Pull the cover off of this fuse box to gain access to these fuses.

Read the inside of the cover to determine the location of the fuse you wish to replace. For example, if you wish to replace the turn signal fuse in a 2000 Cadillac Escalade, you'll find it in slot 16.

Remove the fuse by using a fuse puller or your fingers. Verify that it has been blown; a broken or melted silver band in the middle of the bulb shows that it is indeed blown.

Replace the fuse with one of the same rating. In this example, you must replace the turn signal fuse with another 10 amp fuse.

Close the cover on the fuse box and check to make sure the issue is resolved.
