Sooner or later, one or both of the headlights in your car will burn out. In order to avoid the frustration of a police officer pointing this out to you, perform routine checks of your Acura and learn how to replace the headlight bulb yourself. You'll save valuable time and money by observing these simple steps and precautions for an Acura Integra.

Instructions

    1

Decide which type of light bulbs you will get for your new headlight. For an Acura Integra, you can use a variety of bulbs that depend on the year and style of your car. Check with the dealership, online or at an auto parts store to find the correct options.

    2

Turn off your car before you remove or replace a headlight. Open the hood and secure it so it does not fall while you're working.

    3

Look under the hood directly in front of each headlight assembly to find the bulb. Unhook the bulb holder by lifting up the clear tab at the top of the bulb housing. Detach the connector from the light bulb housing.

    4

Turn the black three-sided ring counterclockwise and then pull it off. This may require extra wiggling to loosen. Once you have unhooked the light bulb holder, you're ready to remove the old bulb.

    5

Hold the base of the bulb and pull it out. You may need to rotate it slightly. Detach the bulb and get your new bulb out of its packaging, using a towel to hold it so as not to touch the bulb itself.

    6

Stick the new bulb into the socket while holding the base. Make sure it's all the way in and secure and check that none of the plastic is showing.

    7

Replace the wiring and connections and close the hood. Start your Acura Integra and confirm the new bulb is working and properly installed.
