The 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 was the last model before the third-generation Ram made its debut for the 2002 model. The 2001 Ram is essentially a carryover from the 1997 model. This model is part of the second generation of the Dodge Ram 1500. The front part of the dash has a large plastic bezel that covers the speedometer cluster and the radio. If you want to remove the Ram's factory stereo, or perform repairs to the dash, you'll need to remove the dash bezel first.

Instructions

    1

Turn the engine off. Depress the steering wheel tilt lever and lower the steering wheel.

    2

Grasp the dash bezel on the left side, above the steering column. Wear gloves to improve your grip. Pull sharply to unhook the left side of the dash bezel. It's only attached by fasteners.

    3

Grasp the right side of the dash bezel, above the radio. Pull sharply to unhook the right side of the dash bezel. The entire bezel should now be unhooked from the dash.

    4

Lift the dash bezel over the steering wheel. It's easier to move it toward the passenger side.
