Any shade-tree mechanic can adjust the headlights on a Plymouth Neon. One quick way to do this is to compare your headlight trajectory path to another car's. Keep in mind that while it is easy to do, Plymouth recommends you leave the adjustment to an authorized repair shop or service center.

Instructions

    1

Adjust your headlights any time you replace a headlight bulb or have front-end body work done. If you don't do either of these, check the aim at least once every 12 months. You also want to make any necessary repairs before you begin the adjustment.

    2

Replicate the normal driving conditions for your Plymouth Neon. You want at full tank of gas and the proper air pressure in your tires. As far as cargo weight, leave any items that you carry on a regular basis in the car.

    3

Park both cars next to each other in front of a wall that's at least 6 feet high. The Plymouth Neon you use to compare the aim must have the correct aim, or your adjustment will not be correct. Make sure the fronts of the cars face the wall at a distance of 25 feet.

    4

Set the emergency brake, turn on the headlights and open the hood. You need to adjust composite headlights bolted to the frame by adding washers to the mounting screws.

    5

Access the adjustment screws for the vertical and horizontal trajectory paths through holes in the radiator support. You want to use a Torx bit to turn the screws. Some people find it easier to see the adjustment screws when they remove the headlight housing.

    6

Match the path of the headlights on your Plymouth Neon to the other car by twisting the screws until you reach the proper aim.
