How to Use Meguiar's M105

Heavy rubbing compounds, along with the multiple stages of buffing compounds used to remove deep imperfections, are always long and laborious tasks. Meguiar's Mirror Glaze M105 Ultra Cut Compound eliminates a lot of those steps by removing deep scratches without creating major swirl marks. M105 is a pressure-sensitive compound in that the harder you push, the deeper it cuts. As a result, the lighter you press, the finer it cuts. This one-step method allows you to push into the deep imperfections, and then let up on the pressure to finish the buffing process, with only one compound.

Instructions

    1

Examine the panel you are going to be working on to ensure that it is clean. Any dirt on the panel leaves additional scratches in the paint.

    2

Apply a modest amount of M105 compound to the polishing pad, then rub it into the pad. Continue this process until compound has been rubbed into the pad's entire surface.

    3

Apply a small amount of compound to the panel, place the polishing pad on the compound and move the polisher in an up-and-down motion along the panel until all of the defects have been removed. Apply heavy pressure to deeper imperfections and lighter pressure to less severe marks.

    4

Remove any remaining compound off of the panel by lightly rubbing it with a clean polishing cloth.
