Your Honda CR-V has an electrically operated engine cooling fan. These steps apply to the 2.0L Honda CR-V engine, and can be accomplished by a beginner with a wrench and a screwdriver in under an hour.

Instructions

    1

Take note of the radio security code, and then disconnect your Honda CR-V negative battery cable.

    2

Unplug the electrical connectors from your cooling fans, and then remove the wiring guide brackets.

    3

Loosen and remove the mounting bolts from the fan shroud and carefully lift the cooling fan assembly out of the vehicle. Place the new assembly in the engine compartment and bolt it firmly back in place.

    4

Plug in the cooling fan electrical connectors and reattach the wiring guide brackets.

    5

Reconnect the negative battery cable and enter your radio security code.

    6

Run your Honda CR-V engine up to normal operating temperature. Check to make certain the engine cooling fans are working properly, and circulating air in the proper direction.
