The 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis shares most of its components with its sister vehicle, the Ford Crown Victoria. However, the grille on each is slightly different. Instead of being held in place with screws, the grille on the Marquis is fully secured with locking tabs. This makes removing the car's grille a relatively simple procedure that you can complete in about five minutes. Removing the grille is necessary if you wish to replace it or if you need to access the area behind it for repairs.

Instructions

    1

Turn off the engine of your 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis. Grab your flat-head screwdriver and stand in front of the grille.

    2

Locate the six locking tabs that secure the grille to the front of the Grand Marquis.

    3

Push each locking tab down with your flat-head screwdriver. When all of the tabs are pushed down, the grille is ready to come off.

    4

Grasp each side of the grille firmly. Pull it out to remove it from the Grand Marquis.
