The 1992 Chevy Silverado (officially called the Chevy C/K1500) was available with power windows and power door locks. Both features are included in the same switch, which is integrated into the door panel, rather than being mounted on a separate removable panel. This means you'll need to remove the entire door panel to gain access to the power-door and power-window switch connection. Once accessed, disconnecting the switch is straightforward.
Instructions
- 1
Remove the two screws from the inside-door handle trim. Open the door handle. Grasp the trim and pull it away from the panel.
2Pull the end caps off the flexible door pull. Behind the caps you'll find two screws. Remove them and take the door pull off.
3Twist the door-locking knob to unscrew it. Remove two additional screws from the top edge of the door panel.
4Push the door panel up from the bottom a few inches, and then carefully pull it away from the door far enough to access the power-door and power-window switch connection.
5Unscrew the two white retainers from the switch connection. Grasp the base of the connection and pull it away from the switch to unplug it.
