If you notice the windshield on your recent model Hyundai Sonata isn't getting any washer fluid, yet the reservoir isn't empty, you can replacing the tubing and or tubing/valve assembly yourself. Often times the problem is corrupted valves and not the tubing itself. Purchasing the tubing/valve assembly costs less than buying these parts individually.

Instructions

    1

Find the Sonata's windshield washer reservoir tank. It's located on the passenger's side front, opposite the battery. The Sonata is a mid-sized sedan, so you may need to remove the front quarter panel and tire to get to the washer tank and tubing.

    2

Locate the two tubing connections--one from the reservoir holding the washer fluid and another to the windshield.

    3

Remove the tubing connection at the windshield side first and drain remaining fluid from reservoir into a container for disposal. The washer fluid can be corroded with dissolved pieces of tubing or valves.

    4

Unhook the other end of the tubing connected to the washer fluid reservoir. If you didn't remove the front quarter panel and tire, you will need to slide under the Sonata to reach this connection.

    5

Check if the reservoir is dirty and rinse with water, if necessary.

    6

Connect the new tubing to the washer reservoir, then the windshield outlets.

    7

Fill the reservoir with fresh washer fluid and test the wipers. It may take a few minutes to prime the new tubing before you see washer fluid coming out onto the windshield.
