The 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier was the last Cavalier model year prior to a substantial redesign in 1995. The Cavalier's door interior is officially called a door panel. If you remove the 1994 Cavalier's door panel, you'll be able to view the door's internal components such as the locking mechanism and the window regulator. You'll also be able to view the door speakers. A common reason for removing the door panel is to replace the car's door speakers.

Instructions

    1

Inspect the door armrest to find a circular cover at the top. Pry this small cover out with your pick tool. Move down to the bottom of the armrest. You'll find another cover. Remove it, and then remove the screws behind the covers with a Phillips screwdriver.

    2

Pull the door armrest off. Set it to the side. With the screws out, it should pop right off.

    3

Find the Phillips screw next to the door lock button on the door handle trim panel. Remove the screw. Pull the door handle slightly open and pull off the trim panel. You'll need to maneuver the panel around the handle.

    4

Remove the window crank. If you have the window crank tool, simply insert the tool in between the crank's base and the door panel. Push the tool in the direction of the crank handle to remove its clip. Pull the window crank off. If you don't have the tool, wedge a clean shop towel between the crank's base and the door panel. Wiggle the towel back and forth to pry out the clip, and then pull the crank off. Behind the crank you'll find a metal washer. Pull it off and keep up with it. You'll need to reinstall the crank.

    5

Insert your trim panel tool in between the edges of the door panel and the door. Push the tool outward to gently pop out the door panel clips. If you don't have the tool, simply pull small sections of the door panel away from the door. Work your way around the entire door panel. Pull gently so you don't break the clips.

    6

Pull the door panel away from the Cavalier's door.
