Hondas are very popular cars for their reliability and longevity. But even if the vehicle lasts for 200,000 miles, the trim and paint may not. One of the parts that wears on a Honda Civic is the window trim. It's easy enough to replace, and can be done with simple hand tools. In this case, the vehicle is a 1995 Honda Civic, but the process is the same for others.
Instructions
- 1
Open the door and lower the window into the door panel. The window must be out of the way to remove this trim.
2Pull the plastic trim panel that sits opposite the driver's side mirror off of the interior using your hands. It is held in place with clips.
3Unbolt the mirror from the door using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket set. Unplug the wiring harness from the mirror if necessary.
4Pull up on the window trim using your hands. It's held in place by clips; pull gently, from the forward portion of the door back.
5Push down the replacement trim piece using your hands. Firm, gentle pressure will get the piece clicked into place.
6Reassemble the mirror and interior panel in the reverse order of disassembly.
